Poetry is an echo asking a shadow to dance - Carl Sundberg
The Poetic Thought is a collection of my poetry over the past 15 years that aims to inspire, engage, entertain and at times challenge. There is nothing to me that so successfully and succinctly conveys an emotion, a view, tells a story or paints a poignant picture with words.
I hope you enjoy.
Dr. Robert Ippaso
Poetry is the distilled essence of human thought and feeling, a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and time. It captures the fleeting shimmer of a moment, the ache of longing, and the quiet joy of understanding in words that resonate far beyond their literal meaning. Through rhythm, imagery, and metaphor, poetry reveals beauty in the ordinary, giving voice to what is often left unsaid, providing inspiration or clarity to those who read it. It has the power to unite strangers in shared emotion, to spark reflection in the heart of chaos, and to preserve the human spirit against the erosion of sometimes overwhelming noise. In a world often rushed and restless, poetry reminds us to pause, to listen, and to see—not just with our eyes, but with our souls.
Robert has an Academic background in Cognitive Psychology and is also a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. His love for poetry and verse harks back to his school and college days in England, enriched by the great works of Yeats, Poe, Tennyson, Sassoon and Wilfred Owen to name but a few. Robert's writing style navigates between satirical/tongue-in-cheek pieces commenting on the foibles of contemporary characters in politics and the romantic lyricism of nature and humanity. His passion for this medium exudes from every pore and he is a great supporter of emerging poets who embrace this as the real art and communication form that it truly is.
Robert's poetry is widely published both within the US and overseas, whether it be in magazines, books, political media or literary web sites. For a selection of his most recent work please copy this link into your web address search tab or directly click the link below:
